Types of Spring Tester

Manual Spring Tester

The MT Series is a manual test stand for force measurement applications up to 500 lbf capacities. The test stand can be bench mounted, wall-mounted, or located horizontally. The Manual Spring Tester Series manual test stands are regularly used with the force gauge to check the force necessary to depress a button, or with the LG mechanical gauge to perform low range pull tests at the end of a production line where caps are placed on spray bottles. They are also used to test the force necessary to fold a cardboard container into proper shape.

How are springs tested?

An example of a fairly simple spring test would be a compression test that determines the free height of the spring, or the length of the spring with a very low force on it, and then compresses the spring to known percentages of that height such as 80%, 50%, etc., and measures the force required to reach those compression percentages.
